Safe ... but not so sound !
Well, I was hoping to have a wonderful blog entry for you with lots of pictures and a rundown of where I've been. However, that's not so easy from a hospital bed !
To make the story short...I arrived home Tuesday night and while emptying my car I tripped over a rock and fractured my femur. Not much fun, as you can imagine ... but at least the operation is over and I am in a lovely rehab here in the hospital. I start physical therapy on Monday and it should be all uphill from there.
Some of you may remember the blog that i wrote about "The I hate to exercise, exercises". I can tell you that I'm so happy now that I stayed on them because all the PT folks tell me I am a great candidate to be walking and almost back to normal in 4 to 6 weeks. So that's very encouraging and once I get home I will get my pictures going and try to get you up to date.
Hugs to all of you. Ginnie

Oh, Ginnie, I'm so sorry this happened to you! For some reason, I spent a lot of time last night reading way-way-way back in your blog, enjoying what you had posted years ago. I want you back soon, posting and happy ... and sound!
Oh, Ginnie--so sorry.
Of course, we will all wait until you can tell of your time away.
Meanwhile--heal heal heal.
Dearest Ginnie,
Take care. I know what it feels like. OOOOOHHH, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. It can be a long road.
Love to you,e.
Ginnie, I am SO sorry!! I hope that you will recover quickly. I'll tell my daughter to look you up if she has time during her next shift.
Oh gosh Ginnie, thank goodness for your good health and yes, the exercises you already under took. Sending you lots of love, and strength and healing thoughts to that
there femur!
Aw ginnie, I am so very sorry for your fracture but am so glad that your having taken care of yourself has put you in a good position to heal quickly. That is a lesson all should heed.
I am putting you in my prayers that you are home soon.
I am wondering if you had teh same surgery my husband had in Sept 2009, a hip replacement?
Ginnie, I am so sorry to hear this news. After a vacation and then....boom. Well, please mend quickly. Give us updates from the hospital as to how you are doing. Take care. Can't wait to hear about your vacation adventures.
At least you can't say that you never catch a break. Seriously: sorry about that. I hope you do recover quickly.
OH NO! Poor thing! Bless your heart (and all adjoining parts!)
BUT, you will be up and about real soon.
It could have been a worse break!
You are HOME, not in a hospital far away.
You are still able to be on the computer...
Shall I continue my list of good things?
"Not much fun" ... I bet it's not !
Let's hope that the physical therapy soon has you up and about.
Ginnie, sorry to hear about this abrupt (and painful) end to your travels. Hope you feel better and mend quickly. Please keep us up-to-date when you can.
I am oh so sorry about your accident. Good wishes and positive vibes are flying from our place to yours. I am so glad you are doing well. Your terrific attitude will serve you well while you are healing.
Oh my dear! I am so sorry for your broken state. I am sure with some hard work in physio you will be ready to go dancing soon.
I seems your was just an accident and that you do not suffer from spells of losing you balance and falling. My sister who does all the hiking and traveling on her own does this. She has to be careful of when and how she steps. It does not slow her down any but it is a worry.
I mentioned the Carolina Shag in my last post. Do you dance it? I suspect not as you are not a native Carolinian.
Hi Ginnie, Sorry that I haven't been around lately and am even more sorry to hear of your accident. I hope by the time you read this, you will be feeling much better. I was wondering what happened to you after I read your last comment on my blog. For a bit there, I thought maybe you had your knees done too!
Love Di ♥
