The upcoming Helsinki Summit …
Our
self-declared deal-making President will be conducting a private one-on-one
meeting with Vladamir Putin on July 16 while at the Helsinki Summit
in Finland. Should this raise concerns ? He doesn't think so.
At
his most recent campaign rally on July 5th Trump mocked
the skeptics by saying: “You know, President Putin is K.G.B. and
this and that but you know what? Putin's fine. He's fine. We're
all fine. We're people. Will I be prepared? Totally prepared. I've
been preparing for this stuff my whole life.”
Well,
that may satisfy his core base but it's more than scary to me.
Political cartoonist David Horsey hit the problem square on with his
rendition of Putin playing Trump.
It
is past time that we realize that Trump is never going to put our
country ahead of his own insane desire to be like the dictators that
he so admires. Putin
is clever enough to give Trump something that he can claim as a
victory but, being a secret meeting, we will never know what
concessions Trump will lavish on Putin in his self absorbed quest to
prove that he can “win the deal”. (Not to mention that Putin may
very well have personal knowledge that Trump does not want known.)
No
wonder that we and the nations that used to be our allies are
dismayed and frightened.

It is scary on so many levels Ginnie!
I just read somewhere that because Trump doesn't prepare for meetings, his staff has told him that he should really read what they put in a special red folder.
I still have trouble understanding how we got here. Never in my life could I have imagined a President talking and acting like this. And never would I have believed that a large core group of supporters would defend his constant lying and rude behavior. It is shameful and disgusting.
Totally agree with you. Each day I find him more alarming.

Don’t worry, they won’t do anything more dangerous than continue plotting strategy for how to get Trump into their dictators union with China, North Korea, Turkey and decide what other nations they can invite to join.
I know it's not the right thing to do, but I would rather not dignify Mr. Trmp with the title of U.S. President, although sadly he is that.
Putin is a KGB thug and he is delighted to see Trump dancing to his tune. And the rest of the world is wondering what happened to America. And so am I
And today he told off all our allies.
Even when the rest of us try to tell them he does not speak for US... it doesn't matter cuz there are so many of "THEM"... When Hillary said Deplorables, it was an understatement.
Remember back in your history classes when they talked about the overthrow by the Proletariat? Or the Barbarians? Well, they are here, as a neighbor said, "thems is us."
I hope all those who voted for the Idiot are proud. Oh, wait, they are!
