Chalking it up ...
Isn't
this a sweet picture? I am always looking for “feel good”
articles to post, but it gets harder and harder to find them so I was
thrilled with this.
These
are the children of a bi-racial family in Naperville, Illinois.
Their mother, Amber White, said, "We
spent the weekend chalking and talking about love and inclusion and
treating everyone we
encounter
with kindness."
The
project wasn't limited to her children either. She said that as
other children came to watch they were encouraged to join in. The
different colors are representative of their choices and
it's a great example of how beautiful and interesting a jumble of
ideas can be.

Great picture. Kids are so cool when given a chance!
Years ago when my school was being renovated, my art class got moved out to an old beat up portable unit. The kids complained how ugly it was, so we changed it! Different classes took different sides and boxes of "sidewalk" chalk, and we decorated our building. After a hurricane washed it all off, another group did it over again. We had the coolest building on campus!
Sending a big shout out to Amber White. What a cool mother who takes time with her kids and teaches them at the same time.
